Stickup Kid : ウィキペディア英語版
Stickup Kid

Stickup Kid is an American Rock band based out of San Jose, California formed in January 2009. The band consists of vocalist Tony Geravesh, guitarist Bo McDowell, bassist Jonathan McMaster, drummer Cameron MacBain, and fill-in guitarist Nicky Ertman. The band previously had a second guitarist, Curtis Wallace who decided to give up music to pursue an acting career. They have released two EP's, ''Fight Nothing'' (2009), ''Nothing About Me'' (2012) and two full length albums ''The Sincerest Form of Flattery'' (2011), ''Future Fire'' (2013). Stickup Kid are currently signed to Adeline Records, who distributed both ''Nothing About Me'' and ''Future Fire''.
==Formation==
The band was formed in 2009 after a jam session held by the four members, after their respective local bands broke up. Geravesh, McMaster, and McDowell played in a band called Tom's Revenge, a band out of San Jose. Geravesh separately met drummer Cameron MacBain while playing in an underground punk band called Cheers to Doerr, also based out of San Jose. Geravesh introduced MacBain to the others and met in McDowell's garage to work on material that would eventually become their first EP, ''Fight Nothing''. A "Stickup Kid" according to Urban Dictionary is one who, "Stands around corners, blocks, alleyways, waiting to rob someone" but singer Tony Geravesh stated they intended it to represent a kid who sticks up for himself, for others, and for those who are weaker than he/she.
Pre-Adeline
Stickup Kid recorded their first EP, ''Fight Nothing'', in their friend Matt Wicker's shed turned studio. This was all independently done; the artwork also done by a friend of the band. Their second release, full-length ''The Sincerest Form of Flattery'', was written in guitarist Bo McDowell's garage, up until the point where they were prohibited to practice by the police. The police prohibited their practice because a local assisted living complex for the deaf complained that the band was so loud, the deaf residents were disturbed. ''The Sincerest Form of Flattery'' was distributed by Better Days Records, a small startup label then based out of Tacoma, Washington. They were discovered by Better Days while on a tour they put on themselves.
Adeline-Present
Stickup Kid signed with Adeline Records in 2011, and have two releases with them; Nothing About Me and Future Fire. The group also signed with Pat Magnarella Management, who also represent Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls, and All-American Rejects, in 2012. ''Future Fire'' inspired nine months of touring with the likes of Real Friends, Candy Hearts, Modern Baseball, In Her Own Words, The Sheds, and more throughout the US and Japan. Stickup Kid was invited to open for Green Day at the SXSW festival, with 27 hours notice to complete a 30 hour drive to Austin, Texas. Currently, a screenplay is being produced about the band's journey. The group returned to a plethora of local acclaim, suddenly gaining more interviews and press coverage. They were named as one of Alternative Press's '100 Bands You Need To Know' in 2013.
